Simple bacon, mushroom and egg brekkie


You don’t need a bunch of exotic ingredients or world-class cooking skills to prepare delicious Paleo meals. To prove it, here’s a simple take on an old favourite — bacon, eggs and mushrooms.

This quick and easy breakfast recipe allows the flavours of the bacon and mushrooms to speak for themselves, while adding a touch of garlic and lemon to make things interesting.

I’m salivating just thinking about it!

Simple bacon, mushroom and egg brekkie

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Serves: 2 people


  • 2 slices bacon
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup mushrooms
  • Cooking fat of your choice (duck fat, goose fat, lard, butter or coconut oil)
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice


  1. Place bacon in pre-heated pan with cooking fat of your choice and fry until cooked to your own personal preference.
  2. While bacon is cooking add mushrooms to a separate pan with some butter, garlic and lemon juice.
  3. When bacon is almost cooked add your eggs to the pan and cook them to your liking.
  4. Serve on a warmed plate.

That’s all there is to it — so simple you could cook this dish in your sleep, and it never gets old!
